The DY Patil surface offered even bounce, trapping DC to a mediocre total. What was beautiful about LSG’s innings was their calm approach followed by their batting unit getting the job done comfortably with six wickets in hand.

Match 45 – May 1, 2022

Location: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

Result: Lucknow Super Giants won by 6 runs

Less than three weeks later, both teams met again and didn’t disappoint. DC fought hard, but the contest fell short for them, nearly pulling off the chase. LSG survived DC’s hard effort to defend their total winner, in the match, dominated more so by bowlers, you got a sense that this rivalry would potentially have a close finish, given that the difference was only six runs. LSG ended the 2022 season with a 2-0 record against DC.

2023: LSG Continues Their Domination

Match 3 – April 1, 2023

Venue: BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

Result: Lucknow Super Giants won by 50 runs  

LSG was able to maintain their dominance with a convincing victory at their home venue. The Ekana Stadium had a slower surface that played into the hands of the spinners and LSG used the conditions to its fullest potential. After putting up a solid total LSG crushed DC’s chase with some outstanding bowling, handing out a heavy defeat by 50 runs. At this juncture, LSG had beaten the DC in 3 straight matches and thus had built up a solid mental edge in the rivalry. 

2024: A New Era – Delhi Capitals Stood Up

Match 26 – April 12, 2024

Venue: BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

Result: Delhi Capitals won by 6 wickets

The shift began in 2024. Back in Lucknow, DC would finally snag a W against LSG in that ground. The bowler’s plans all came together on this day and were able to restrict LSG to a score they could manage. DC’s chase was to come from their top order, steady and secure on their way to victory. With a 6 wicket win, DC captured their very first victory against LSG as well as their first home ground W. This was all great for their confidence, too.

Venue: Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi

Result: Delhi Capitals won by 19 runs

During the later part of the 2024 season, DC would flip the script and curl stomp LSG in home match up against them. On the Arun Jaitley Stadium floor, in front of a loud home audience, DC set a big enough target and then fine bowled their way to a win. Although this victory was by only 19 runs, Delhi Capitals was on the come up, and in fact head to head with LSG was starting to level itself out. 

2025: Delhi is Ahead

Match 4 – March 24, 2025

Venue: Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam

Result: Delhi Capitals won by 1 wicket

The 2025 season went off to a dramatic start between the two sides. With both sides traveling to Visakhapatnam due to the scheduling, this neutral venue became the backdrop for one of the most dramatic finishes in this rivalry. Chasing a tricky target, the Delhi Capitals lost wickets at healthy intervals but some grit and determination from their lower order saw them sneak past LSG by a run. The game highlighted just how far DC had come in reversing the trend and keeping their composure in a tough spot.

Result: Delhi Capitals won by 8 wickets

In a return fixture in Lucknow, DC completely dominated and chased down the target 8 wickets in hand.
